Are You Satisfied?

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Are we satisfied with this day that the Lord has made?
Do we complain about the weather and our neighbors

There is nothing we can do about the weather
Yet, we complain daily regardless of what God has given us

It is too hot or is it too cold
Maybe we would feel better if we had control

Our house is too small or maybe too big
The grass needs to be cut and we want to sleep

The kids are all whiny and won’t do as they are told
All of a sudden we feel out of control

What is the matter with the human race
Never satisfied with the shape we are in
We are either too fat or maybe too thin

Seems that nothing can satisfy this crew
God has to look at His creation and wonder
What on earth has gone asunder?

Are You Disappointed God?

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

God, are you disappointed in me, today,
Since I did not go but chose to stay ...

In the comfort of my home? I rested
When I knew my faith, in You, was being tested.

You asked me to go to my neighbor's door.
I, simply, said, "No, that is such a chore."

God, did I disappoint you, today,
As I chose to leave the Bible alone, nor did I pray?

I feel so sad, now that I made this choice
To leave You alone and to ignore your voice.

Forgive me, Father, as I missed a chance
To serve you faithfully as you asked.

I know that I disappointed my Father, today.
Forgive me and, tomorrow, I will not stray.

AMY-My Daughter in Christ

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

We often say we have sisters in Christ and we do if we are saved
I have one, that I call my daughter, because I had the privilege of introducing her to Jesus Christ and Amy accepted Him as her Saviour
A better Christian I have never met, when she accepted Jesus, She completely surrender to Him
She has a voice that is more beautiful than any bird I have heard
Amy uses this gift for our Lord, She has been blessed with a wonderful husband and four little boys.
I received a call this week, that my dear spiritual daughter has cancer
A very serious type, I understand. She will have a breast removed and go through a valley that she cannot comprehend
One thing I personally know, that our God has a perfect plan for Amy
A year ago I discovered a growth in my throat and the doctor’s were not shy telling my husband and I, how serious this could be
One possibility was that I could never speak again plus all the other things that could go wrong
It took me about three weeks for this all to sink in, and finally I was able to say” God May Your Will Be Done”
I accepted the fact that I may not wake up and I talked to my husband like I had never talked before
Preparing him for the worst, but letting him know I was ready to go home if that was God’s will
My surgery turned out just fine, I healed and I can talk
I realized that it is the valley’s that keep me closer to my God
When I am on a mountain top, I seem to forget that I need him still
My precious Amy will not go through this valley alone. He promised us to not fear that He would be near
God has a plan for this missionary appointee, she and her husband were to leave for the mission field in September
He has delayed these plans to complete His !! I know that all of this will glorify HIM.

Ants

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

As I was sitting outside and watching a tiny ant
I noticed something that taught me a lesson
That little ant was obedient to it’s leader
Busy as could be doing the chore that was his
Many ants came along and they fell in line
Doing as the leader led and the others followed
Just looking at one of God’s smallest creatures
I was fascinated at the fact that they got along so well
Not getting in the way of other or trying to take over the lead
Just calmly doing the job of picking up a piece of sand
Doing whatever ants do and letting his family or friends alone
If we as humans would just stop and look at God’s creation
We could learn a lot on behavior and how to get along with others
Leadership is something we do not heed to
There are too many leaders and not enough followers
That tiny little ant taught me how God expects us to behave
