In 1776 we declared our Independence from England

What a wonderful day that was for the USA

Thank you for this Independence Day

God will you bless American even though we leave you out

Of so many things that it is you  it is  about

You must be ashamed of this country you made

We have left you out in so many ways

Thank you for Independence Day

Why don’t we pray and salute our flag

We have allowed others to take this away

God we love you and I pray that we will not lag

Allow the unbelievers to take down our flag

Thank you for Independence Day

You have asked us to humble ourselves and pray

May we do this so our land will be healed from strife

Help us to lay down our guns and our knife

To live for our Lord Jesus in peace and in quite

Thank you for Independence Day

May you keep God in your Fourth of July

God what a mess we are in and I cannot do anything but trust in you
I cannot go to New York and dig, or to Washington to visit the bereaved
Praying is what I am doing and I hope you can hear me Lord Jesus
My heart is breaking for what I have seen on TV and what I have heard
So many brothers and sisters are hurting today so I just pray
Their hearts will be healed and they will go to their knees
I lost a son to suicide several years ago and my heart is still broken
There are things about us that never heal when our loved ones are gone
Only you, Lord Jesus, is all that we have in times like these
That is enough! Yes Lord, That is enough, I think of what you did for us
Hanging on that tree, that we can be free, regardless of what has happened in the USA
You are there with your hand out to bring your children peace
Thank you Lord that I am an American and I am so proud to be
A child of a King and the honor of being just one little speck in the masses
Of the wonderful United States of America
Our Father, take care of us in the days a head that we will not become bitter or dread
The days to come sound like they will test our faith more than ever
Help us to pass this test by being faithful to you and to our fellow man
Thank you God for our President who shows us that you are in his heart
Take him by his hand and lead him to do what you would have him do
Let our children see that you are the one that is our Shepherd and will lead us through these waters
Keep your hand on my land and take care of the Military, Thank you God! I Praise You for Your Love for us!

Dear God as I sit here today watching the news of the day
How I fear what will happen to America as I pray
Why should you bless us as we have looked the other way
When you so graciously tell us to watch and obey
Your grace has been bestowed upon us in so many ways
Yet we are disobedient to your WORD in what you say
Our minds are on the war and the things of the world
Where we can go and what we can do to forget about you
We are turning to gods that make us happy and to forget
What is going on in the world that is distressing as we fret
God don’t leave us nor turn your back to us, yet this is what we deserve
Our lives do not reflect that in you we put our trust
Pornography is all over the place, on the TV, the movies
and the computers we touch
Your children are not dressing in the manner that pleases you
Our dress is not modest as you have asked it to be
The way we talk and use your name in vain and the terrible
Words that are spoken each day from the mouths
Of your children, that must make you sad
Oh how we wish that we would not be so bad
God don’t leave us even though we have no right to ask
The way we live is shameful and a disgust
Our children are drinking, using drugs seem to be a must
To be popular with their peers is more important than
Doing the right thing that would please you dear Lord
Forgive us today as we have walked away from praying and serving you
Many are bored and find the world so appealing
When it is you that we should try to be pleasing
Forgive us dear Lord as we live in the fear
Of loosing our loved ones as they fight for our freedom
When we look at our life, can we truly believe that you
Are not saddened by what you see in us this day
God please don’t leave us and this is what I pray!

We talk funny deep down in the South
So do the folks that live North of us – everyone lives North of us
We have education and class, we have the Southern Bell’s, great athletes
We are the ones that like to have fun and we laugh at our kin
What could be so wrong with that when we are a funny bunch
Our grammar could be improved and so could some of the schools
We may not be Ivy League but we can cook and have charm
Redneck has become a popular word and for this one I like it
My neck isn’t red but my blood is and I am proud of the USA
You will not find a better class of people than the Southern folks
We are flag waving Americans and love our Lord
If that is a redneck then to God give the Glory
We were born in the South because God put us here
If you think you are better, smarter or
classier than us
Forget that! We forgive you, and love you too!!!

God what has happened to our country with all this terror
I am so saddened by this attack on our country
All of American is in disbelief that this could happen
It has happened, now our hearts are breaking
Sadness has overwhelmed us as we watch from our homes
The pain and distress that we see in our brothers and sisters
We are far apart by distance but not in our hearts
Television has brought us there, to New York and Washington
God where are you? please don’t turn your back on us
As we have on you, no more prayer in school
No thought of you on a day to day basis, just ourselves
No more teaching your words to this generation
Oh God, how can we say ‘bless us’ when it is not in YOU we trust
Our world shows that- I couldn’t believe the dirty words
That were coming out of some people running from chaos
Oh God forgive us, thank you for our Godly President
Thank you for our leaders and the prayers of your people
God don’t take your hand off of AMERICA-FORGIVE US and BLESS US!
Let us look at our money and see that we have IN GOD WE TRUST
I pray today that we will turn back to the time we did trust

One year ago my heart was broken for the devastation that took place in our land
The heartache that came to all the ones that were left behind as their loved ones flew away
Into the arms of Jesus that was waiting for His children to come in
As I reflect on the grief of that terrible day of 9-11-2001
I see so much goodness in the people of America, that is our home
The fireman that died to save another, the policeman that ran to help
The doctors, nurses, the ambulance drivers and helpers that went flying to rescue and save others
Love stepped in when hate could have overtaken our country
We saw it in the faces all around us and on the television that brings us the news
The sad expressions as they so patiently told us what was happening in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania
The hero’s that will forever be implanted in our memory
One year ago my life was changed because of you-all of you
That showed me what courage really is plus the dignity that
You showed as you held your head high and told your story
God has blessed America in a tragedy that we never dreamed of
This is America and disasters like 9-11 doesn’t happen in America
Well it did happen and America stood tall as they watched the tower fall
Our President showed us what he is made of, he believes in our freedom
That we have enjoyed all through the years, he proved his integrity to this country
As he went to the people and poured out his heart of sadness and pain
To the young soldier that he went to his bedside and saluted
May we look at the good that our brothers and sisters showed on that fateful day
One year ago many of our children lost a parent and you were there to take over
One year ago you held a bloody body until the ambulance arrived
One year ago you place our flag on your homes, your cars ,everywhere
That you could let the world know that this is your land, this is my land, this is OUR LAND
GOD BLESS OUR LAND as we continue to help and to heal!!!

Father would you bless America?

What a mess we seem to be in

Murders everday and no attempt to pray

God Bless America

How much more can you take?

When all we do is make mistakes

Forget about you until there is a crises

So many opinions and lots of biases

God Bless America

Where are our Bibles that sit on a shelf

Never to be read, just dust them at best

Where is our witness for you my dear Lord

No prayer in school or government places

God Bless America

We are celebrating our Independence

With fireworks, singing and lots of eating

Oh, how I pray that you will forgive us today

Let us all remember and hopefully pray

Thanking you for America the home of the brave

God Bless America

May we turn to you like never before

Be thankful for our troops and even more

For all our blessings we can count one by one

Forgive us Lord as we attempt to try

To be more Christ like as our days are passing by
