Fellowship

Friday, March 13th, 2009

My best friends in the whole wide world

Are the ladies in my Sunday School class

The ones in my church that I hold so dear

They are in my heart and I pray for them each day

Many times we often go play

We have fun together and hold each others hand,

When there is a crises or we are going through pain

Everyone needs a family to look out for them

The best one we have is our church family

If you are a Christian and I am too

Then you are in my family and I am kin to you

God says we are brothers and sisters in Him

Can’t get better than that

Just go to a church where his word is taught

Don’t be fooled, look out for that

Find a Christ-centered church and be a part of it

You will not be sorry and have lots of fellowship.

Youth Directors

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

I don’t have any particular youth director in mind
Just thought I would pay tribute to those that take time
To love our young people and to teach them the way
They have a path to walk and it seems so long at their age
Before they know it this wonderful time will have passed
They will be in college or the work place will call
During this time there is someone who cares
Which way they will go and what they will become
Jesus their savior is taught to them often
They pray together and bible verses they memorize
This will stick with them the rest of their lives
Some will stray from the path they are taught
Others will pray that their friends will get caught
That is because they love their friends
Thanks to the youth directors that have guided them

Vacation Bible School

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

I walked through the woods a mile or so
To catch a school bus that would take me to church
I loved Vacation Bible School and went every day
Bible verses I learned but the songs were my favorite
I still know one or two that I learned many years ago
The teachers were dedicated and did their best
To teach us about the Lord Jesus, and how He did not rest
I have often thought about His walk on this earth
Going about doing good and pointing everyone to God
I learned a lot in Vacation Bible School
That I took into my youth and adult life
More children should have this opportunity
Know God’s word and what it really means to us
It made me want to be good to others as Jesus did
To love my parents and respect what they said
I am thankful for the memories that are in my mind
Going to Vacation Bible School and having a very good time
Many children today do not know what Vacation Bible School is
It is bible based and it is during their school vacation
Some churches have it at night so parents can attend
When you see a sign in front of a church that is about to begin
Enroll your child and let them attend
The people are wonderful and dedicated as can be
They wouldn’t be there if they were not needed
I taught many years and learned more than the kids
My very best memories are the one’s I attended as a child
God blessed my memory so that I can sing songs of Jesus Loves
He Loves all the children of the world, red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in His sight-shouldn’t your child know that?

The Sabbath

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

When God made a day of rest,
It put the faithful to a test.
Do we use it to reflect on Him,
Go to church, or play on a whim?

Just sit back and rest and pray,
Remembering that it is His day.
He set it aside
For you and for me.

The work and the chores
That we did all week …
Now we are to stop,
Rest, and reflect on thee.

He is our father
And He cares so much.
For his children,
He loves the entire bunch.

The Sabbath, to some,
Will be the Saturday that comes.
To me, it will be next Sunday
For this old mom.

The Little Church Across The Tracks

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

When I left college to go teach school,
I first found a church I could attend
It was a big beautiful church and I learned they had a mission
They needed workers at the little church
No one wanted to leave the big church to go work with these people
I went to the church and taught Sunday School
The pastor was the pastor of two churches
He was sometimes late since the churches were not close
If he wasn’t there at eleven, I led them in the singing
Then I would read a scripture and begin to explain it
The pastor often came in and sat on the first pew,
He would nod his head for me to continue
A bright spot in my life is the little church across the tracks
And the wonderful people I grew to love.

Testimony

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
Each person has a testimony regardless of what it is
Tonight I get to share mine with a group of ladies
They ask me to come and share what God has done in my life
It is exciting because He is always there for me
My life has not been a bed of roses nor has it been that bad
It is I have lived awhile and had good times and sad
God has always been there regardless of what my day was like
He has taken me through the valleys and was so very near
How can we go through the loss of our loved ones
The sickness of a child, without Him being by our side
I am thankful for this opportunity to let others know
We are more alike than most of us show
People surprise me when they can’t share our Christ
He has done so much for so many in their life
I have been on the mountain top where all is well
Many times in the valley and he never failed
Yes, I am scared when I stand to speak
Yet God gives me his amazing peace
Once I stand up, then I feel all is well and I
Continue to talk and tell what My Lord Jesus
Has done for me

Someone Is Waiting

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Someone is waiting for you
To knock on their door.
Someone needs Jesus and
That is what we are here for …

To go into the highways and
Hedges, and find them.
For sure, they need Jesus
And are waiting for you …

To reach out and win them
To our Jesus, this day.
Win them for Him.
That is what He has to say.

Bring them in to church
And train them to know more
About Jesus and our love
For each one will show.

It is all about Jesus.
‘This is the reason we go

Someone is waiting for
That knock on the door.
He is speaking to you.
So, please don’t ignore.

Ask Him to deliver you
From all of your fears.
You will feel His presence
As you go near.

Someone is waiting for you
To introduce them to Jesus, this year.
Someone is waiting for you, and
Only you, to knock on their door.

God is calling to you to go and
Win this lost soul from the pit of sin.
You are all that He has to reach the

So, go, reach, win, train, and send

May God bless you
As you knock on the door.

Dedicated to Dr. Ray Newcomb

Revival

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

I am so excited we are going to have a revival.
All prayed up and want God to put a spark in me.
I love revivals, I was saved in one.
Yet I think what have I done
to prepare for a mountain top experience I need.
Haven’t prayed for a person or invited the lost.
What in the world will be the cost?
Nothing, not a thing in deed.
How do I expect Gods blessings to pour down on me.
When in reality, there is nothing that I have done
for HIM to bless me for the revival to come.
If revival comes to the ones I hold dear;
I must prepare myself and get out of here,
go witness for HIM and to them I will share
the love of my Lord for them He cares!

My Pastor has a heart for lost souls

That enthusiasm is contagious to all

He starts praying and preparing long before

The revival starts and the evangelist comes

I am thankful for my pastor and all that he stands for

Have You Thanked Your Pastor?

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Have you thanked your pastor today

He is our shepherd and we are his sheep

He prays for us often even when we sleep

Have you thanked him for that

Do you remember the times you called on him

To come to the hospital to be by your side

He comes running and held your hand as you cried

Have you thanked him for that

Do you take him for granted and expect him to do it all

When it was because of Jesus he answered the call

Have you thanked him for that

We pay him a penance for all that he does

Yet never stop to think that he doesn’t serve by a clock

Have you thanked him for that

He hurts when you hurt as if you were his kin

He preaches the funerals as he cries within

Have you thanked him for that

Would you thank your Pastor today?

Going to Church

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

If you do not go to church on a regular basis
You are missing the greatest blessing we humans can have
To study God’s word and meet wonderful people
Have fellowship with them as God would have you to
My pastor often says, ‘If you miss three Sunday’s you are back slidden’
I tend to agree since I feel so empty and unhappy if I miss
Sunday is my favorite day of the week
The one God set aside for us to worship him and to rest
Every child should be taken to Church to learn God’s word
To have friends that are taught the right way to live
It is by example they learn and to parents I plead
Take them to Church and you will reap the reward

Get them in their classes and friendships they will make

The greatest example to your child is you, so don’t

Make a mistake

Live your life as God would have you to

Your children will be blessed and so will you
