Thank You For Listening To My Prayers

Monday, March 16th, 2009
Thank you, God ...
For guiding my path through the valley,

Where you held my hand ...
The mountain tops that You

Tugged on me to climb ...
My parents that were given to me

By Your divine order ...
For my children that You sent

To me in Your timing.
I praise You ...
For my salvation.
The mind that you gave me

To understand the Old Rugged Cross.
For Your presence in my life, today.
Thank you, Lord ...

For your patience with a sinner such as I.
The love that You have shown

Through the wrong paths that I chose.
The many friends that You

Sent into my life to love.
Thank you ...
For the guidance You

Will give me tomorrow.
For the forgiveness that You

Have given me, today.
Continue to guide

My path, dear Lord ...
The path that seems

So uncertain to me.
You know where I am going

And where I have been.
Thank you for listening
To my prayers.

Sometimes, He Says, “No.”

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Sometimes, my Father says, “No.”
He does it because He loves me so.

Often, I want something so badly I beg.
He says, “No, my child,” and He doesn’t hedge.

As He looks at my life and all my desires,
He wants me to be happy; not having to put out the fires.

Of all the mistakes that I could have made,
His answer was, “No,” if only I had obeyed.

I would not be married to the man He sent to me,
If He had answered my prayer that I would plead.

My life would not have been in the military, for sure.
Yet, He sent me to the mission field; for Him to endure.

He said, “No,” to the white picket fence.
I was to be a Marine wife, to witness for Him wherever sent.

I am so thankful for the answer of, “No,”
When, so often, it was my way I wanted to go.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for answering my prayers.
Thank you for the many times that you said, “No,”
Because you did my blessings flow.

Lord Jesus Just Show me

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Lord Jesus just show me what you would have me do

I feel so empty when I have done nothing for you

Give me a vision today to love unconditionally

To pray unselfishly and be of help to someone

Lord Just Show Me

I need to have a mission that is from you Lord

Not just sit and wonder what I need to do

Make it very clear to me where I am to go

Should I sit and read your word or kneel and pray

Lord Jesus Just Show me

Would you have me call the neighbor that is sick

Or should I go visit the one that is lonely and sad

Do you want me to kneel and pray and just be glad

That I am your child and be satisfied, not sad

Lord Jesus Just show me

Forgive me if I have given someone the wrong advice

Let me love the one that hurt me by their unkind words

Give me wisdom to know what to say to the lost souls

Speak clearly Lord that I will know what my mission is

Lord Jesus Just Show me

Let Us Pray

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Let us pray for our brother today
He may be in Singapore, Canada, or the USA
Sometimes the request are difficult we say
We just know it is time to pray

God knows’ our heart and the Spirit
Gives us the words
To lift up the need that should be heard

In our humble hearts we often fear
We may not say what he needs to hear

Prayer warriors we are called
Due to a vision that Rob knew was of God

We pray for so many that we would never know
If it were not for Rob’s faith that helps us to grow

Just Today

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I heard my Savior say,
“My dear, you need to pray.
Tell me of your needs, wants, and desires;
Just today.

I am hereService to listen and to answer as I will.
I love you and you need to be still.
There is a mission for you to do for me;
Just today.

I have a purpose for you, this day.
You must leave your comfort zone for me.
One of your neighbors is lost.
You need to go and win him for Jesus;
Just today.

One of my children is so lonely today,
Sick and frail, and needs a friend.
You need to go visit for me.
That is the way it needs to be;
Just today.

I Prayed Today

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I prayed today and still in awe that I came into His presence
It seemed as if my God was sitting on the couch in my residence
Before I bowed my head and said, Dear God forgive me
I felt despair and all alone in this dear place that I call home
Yesterday I went out the door to visit a friend once more
I prayed today that He would forgive the many sin
That I commit each day, oh that is the reason I pray
Yet in His presence this very day, He made me glad needless to say
He is so wonderful, yes so wonderful, He takes my cares away
As I talked to my saviour that loves me so
He brought to memory many things that I needed to say
Like forgive me dear Lord for not being obedient that day
There were times that He made me smile when He
Said, remember the day when you were a child
You were more stubborn than you were shy
I could remember and I could have cried
He showed me that today when I prayed
My day was more beautiful and much more fun
Than when my prayer had just begun
I know I am loved
I felt that today I prayed

WWII Veterans

Friday, March 13th, 2009

To the veterans of World War 11, I salute you today

It has been a long time ago but the memories will stay

I am so thankful for the sacrifice that you made

For the freedom that we share on this Memorial Day

God bless you dear ones that are  here to celebrate

Many have gone home but we have not forgotten  you

As we think of Belgium or Germany way back to that date

In 1944 there was one that I love

Celebrated Christmas in a hut that he is not sure of

It was somewhere over there, he was hiding that day

Just to stay safe with his buddies he prayed

God bless these wonderful folks that made sacrifices for us

Bless the loved ones that are sadden because theirs did not make it home on that bus

With a big salute I honor you today

Thank God you are here as I bow to pray

Thank A Vet

Friday, March 13th, 2009

I would like to thank the Vets
that have served

To protect us, every day,
in their own way.

They go to foreign lands
that they can not say,

Leaving loved ones behind
to go where they may;

To fight for our freedom and,
so often, we don’t say
‘Thank you for leaving your
free life behind, going
Where the battles are fought,
in the heat or snow.

I want to thank you for all
the wars that you fought.

The world wars were something
that you did not desire.
Yet, you went where they sent you, for service to aspire.
Purple hearts were given
to those that were hurt.
Air medals were earned because
of you being an expert.

Thank you, dear Vet,
for giving to me freedom, today,
Because you picked up your
duffel bag and went far away.
You did not ask to be sent
to Vietnam.
When you got home things
were not calm.

People were unhappy because
of the war and never said ‘thanks’;
Regardless of your status,
your pain, or your rank.
You came back as brothers,
with a bond for each other.
Thank you, dear Vet,
for leaving your sisters and brothers.

We appreciate you that were
called on for Desert Storm.
You never complained
or came home forlorn.
The spirit was there
(of the red, white and blue).
Thank you for being so brave
and so true.

Iraq frightened you
and this we all know.
But, did you ever put on a show
For the world to see how
brave that you are?
To me you all are a
bright shining star.

Thank you VET!!!!

Marine Wife

Friday, March 13th, 2009

I married a marine forty years ago.
It wasn’t a piece of cake you know.
He was flying his airplane and having fun,
I was having babies and taking care of them.
Wishing at times I could run.
Any place would be O.K if I could just go play.
Be alone for one second would be great that day.
I had been up all night with a sick baby or two.
Maybe it was three I didn’t have a clue.
I was tired and weary and wanted to cry,
Then I would think how much he liked to fly.
I would gather my wits and pray not to quit,
be content with the choice I made for my life.
That was to be a marine wife

Military wives can identify with this

We love you dearly but we sure do miss

The help we could get when you are around

The emptiness you feel in our life will abound

Can’t you see how much I love you now

In Memory of You

Friday, March 13th, 2009

We have put the flag out at half mast,
Will place flowers on your grave.
There will be picnics and celebration,
In memory of you.

Thank you, dear one, for giving your all.
You were there to answer the call.
America needs help, yet you may fall.
You went there for me to be free.
In memory of you.

Your parents and family are sad, on this day.
You will be missed, needless to say.
We remember you on this Memorial day.
It is all about you.
In memory of you.

Thank you for caring so much, about us,
That you got your duffle bag and jumped on that bus
To go to war; for us to be safe.

Oh, yes, we care and will never forget
The sacrifice you paid for the USA.
In memory of you.

Thank you for your sacrifice.
