Why Do We Fear?

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

There is a great day coming, by and by.
We whine, we cry, we pout, and fear
That we might die and will not be here.

God has promised to prepare us a place,
A wonderful mansion for all that believe on His Son.
Don’t you think that will be fun?

When we get to Heaven, one great day,
To see Jesus and loved ones gone on before ~
I am looking forward to that day.

He tells us not to fear, that He will always be near.
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When our dear Jesus we will see.

Think of how He has watched over you and me.
Lovingly, He has taken our hand ~
Walked with us, daily, through this land.

Won’t it be wonderful there?

No need to FEAR!

Jesus I Love you

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

Jesus I love you and thank you for your love for me
If it were not for your love, I could not get through the day
That is the reason I kneel and pray
Jesus I Love you

You came into the world to save me from sin
You are my father, my Lord and my King
I am so humbled by your love I don’t know where to begin
To tell you ,how much I love you

Thank you for getting me through this valley today
Pull me back up on the mountain, I know I won’t stay
It is the valley where I call on you and pray
Jesus I love you

You are my friend who rides with me in the car
Everywhere I go there is where you are
I do not fear because you are there
Jesus I love  you

When my heart is breaking and there are tears
You lift me up and take away my fears
God I am so blessed to know you are there
Jesus I love you

Thank you for giving me a family that I love
Because of you I know one day I will fly like a dove
To Heaven where there will no heartbreak or tears
Jesus I love you

This Is Not My Home

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

This old earth isn’t my home for long I am passing through to get where I belong Jesus said, ‘I have gone to prepare a place for you That where I am, there you will be also’ Isn’t that comforting to know this wonderful truth He gave to us that we will have a place to look forward to Heaven is our eternal home and that is so When I leave this old earth I am not coming back As an animal or a flower or even another I will go to heaven and spend eternity With my Jesus who has gone on before My loved ones that has given their life to Him Will be there to welcome me home What a peace within when we know where we are going.

She Is Home

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

At the age of eighty  three my dear friend went home
To be with Jesus for eternity in heaven she will roam

Heaven became a little brighter when Nanny entered in
Her new life with family, friends and Jesus just began

The ones left behind will miss her until we see her again
God reached down and took away all of her pain

There has never been one that would lift me up more
Than this precious one that just went through heavens door

Regardless of her illness, her pain and discomfort
She smiled and said "come here my dear" I am happy
 you are here

Jesus was her rock and that was plain to see
Often I would think it is like Nanny  I would like to be.

Let The Eagles Soar

Monday, January 26th, 2009

For the grief stricken ones that have lost a child

That hurt in the heart will never die

Let the eagles soar and watch them fly

Their beauty is piercing as you look in their eye

As they open those wings toward heaven they soar

We know that our Lord Jesus knocks at our door

To give us compassion, His  love and more

He is the one that allows the eagles to soar

For the grief stricken to know He is the core

To their sad heartbeat as the eagles soar

Our children are with Him that we can be sure

Just like the eagles that soar in the sky

So does our children when He let them fly

Look up to heaven and know He is there

Watching over the children

Just as sure as the eagles soar

How Beautiful Heaven Must Be

Monday, January 26th, 2009

How beautiful heaven must be,
To walk on streets of gold.
My wonderful Saviour I will behold.

All the beautiful things that we hold dear
Were made by our God,
All that we know or have seen on this earth.

He made the beauty for you and for me.
Crystal waters, the flowers, and all the jewels
Will be blinking at us as we pass them by.

Perhaps there will be stars in the sky.
No one knows what it will be like.
The Bible gives us a glimpse of the beauty there.

Jesus is the one that we hold dear.
How beautiful heaven must be ~
Is just a question and puzzle to me.

I can not imagine what beauty is there.
No earthly thing will mean as much
As being face to face with my Jesus I love.

Heaven is beautiful and is waiting for us!

Heaven Welcomed Him

Monday, January 26th, 2009

My friend stepped into heaven today
On this earth he did not fight to stay
There was a bright and beautiful place
Where my dear friend desired to go
Jesus is there and so is his precious wife
Now he has gone to a much better life
Jesus told him to come home today
It leaves an ache in my heart
When from my presence he did depart
I sat and thought of the fond memories I have
Of the one that I loved and will miss so bad
A kind Southern gentleman was this dear friend
I told him often that I loved him
Now I am glad I did
Heaven was waiting for him to enter in
To be welcomed by his loved ones and his dear friends
The chair will be vacant as I walk into the church
The one in the foyer that I felt belonged to him
I will miss him terribly because I loved him
I should not be selfish when I know
HEAVEN WELCOMED HIM!!

A Bright Spot Was He

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Once in awhile you will meet someone great
Maybe not a celebrity or big shot, what’s that?
They often come in a shy sweet way
Doing whatever God asked of them that day
I knew a man like that, he was a gentle man
He enjoyed joking and playing around
For people to laugh, was a talent he had
God was so evident in his life
You were never uncomfortable in his sight
The people that came his way
He was kind and generous everyday
He often gave me money when I was broke
Never did he ask for it or make me a joke
My brother, George Dewey, is in heaven now
Waiting on his loved ones to come around
He was a bright spot in my life
In my heart he will always remain
There was so much love he showed this little sister
Sometimes she was a real pain!!
