Lord Jesus Just Show me

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Lord Jesus just show me what you would have me do

I feel so empty when I have done nothing for you

Give me a vision today to love unconditionally

To pray unselfishly and be of help to someone

Lord Just Show Me

I need to have a mission that is from you Lord

Not just sit and wonder what I need to do

Make it very clear to me where I am to go

Should I sit and read your word or kneel and pray

Lord Jesus Just Show me

Would you have me call the neighbor that is sick

Or should I go visit the one that is lonely and sad

Do you want me to kneel and pray and just be glad

That I am your child and be satisfied, not sad

Lord Jesus Just show me

Forgive me if I have given someone the wrong advice

Let me love the one that hurt me by their unkind words

Give me wisdom to know what to say to the lost souls

Speak clearly Lord that I will know what my mission is

Lord Jesus Just Show me

Let Us Pray

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Let us pray for our brother today
He may be in Singapore, Canada, or the USA
Sometimes the request are difficult we say
We just know it is time to pray

God knows’ our heart and the Spirit
Gives us the words
To lift up the need that should be heard

In our humble hearts we often fear
We may not say what he needs to hear

Prayer warriors we are called
Due to a vision that Rob knew was of God

We pray for so many that we would never know
If it were not for Rob’s faith that helps us to grow

Let His People Pray

Monday, March 16th, 2009

If my people who are called by my name

Will humble themselves and pray

I will hear their prayer

I will forgive their sins

I will  heal their land

Let His people pray

Today as we sit and watch

The devastation of nature

People have lost everything

We shed tears for the pain we see

Let His people pray

There is a war across the waters

Where our troops are fighting

For our freedom and peace in our land

Let His people pray

Domestic violence is rampart in our world

Child abuse is higher than we think

We have never seen such greed before

Let His people pray

Our president is doing all he can for us

Whether you like him or not

God’s word teaches us to respect him

Let His people pray

There is suffering and death

All around us today

We humble ourselves and pray

That you will bless our people today

Let us humble ourselves and pray

Lovely Ladies

Friday, March 13th, 2009

There are all types of women in our universe

Some are kind with a smile on their face

Others frown and growl when others are near

The ones that disturb me act as if they cannot see

They will pass you in the mall or the halls of the church,

Hold their heads high and go on with a smirk

Oh, maybe there are only a few of these

There are many lovely ladies around if you please

Gracious and kind to all that they see

Do what they can when someone is in need

Speak to all that come into their path

Not a chip on the shoulder, not a bit of wrath

God gave women a special gift

To recognize honesty and those that are miffed

Lovely ladies are around us and we can plainly see

Don’t try to fool us, and we will let you BE!!

Lots Of Good People

Friday, March 13th, 2009

There are so many bad things going on in our world, today,
We forget about all the good people that are honest as can be …

People that reach out and help others when they see a need,
Lots of good people helping others before they think of self …

The ones that are quick to come to the rescue
When someone needs help, not a thought of thinking of self …

People who are honest and will take the change back
When they were given more than they should have received …

Being kind to the children and elderly, alike,
Not running ahead so they can get in the door first.

There are a lot of good people out there, today.
So, be sure to say ‘thank you’ for the kindness that is shown.

Let’s try to be among the good people, today;

See what we can do to help and pray!!

A Lady

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Not ever woman we see, is considered a lady
I know one and her name is Katie
She married a preacher many years ago
There was always work for her to do
In the church, at home or school she would go
Doing her job and doing it well
Always proper and a wonderful hostess to all
Everyone was welcomed in her home, I recall
I often felt people took advantage
She knew that she could manage
To feed one more that her honey brought in
With her sweet smile and a welcoming grin
Katie would say come to the kitchen or in the den
What has happened to ladies today
When we don’t have time to even say hello in a nice way
A tribute to Katie this day
For the lady she is and will always be.

Lights Out

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Young people, today, certainly would say,
When you were in college, it was a different day.

Our beds had to be made before we left the room,
Closet in order, the floors all neat and clean

No breakfast until our rooms were in order.

A pink slip was left if the room did not pass inspection.
That was something we did not desire to receive.

Lights out at ten and that was a must!
Study time was taken care of before that time.

No such thing as the opposite sex being in our room.
There was a lounge downstairs that was well chaperoned,
Where we could entertain our date by playing cards or just chatting.

Rules were rules and they were not to be broken.
I have often thanked God for this training I received.
It is hard for this generation to believe!

Lazy Eye

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

When I was in the third grade the county nurse came by
She checked the eyes of all the students

A note was sent to my parents that day
Your child cannot see well, a specialist is a must

Away we went, a diagnoses was made
Lazy eye blindness , not much we can do

A patch was to be used over the good eye to force the bad one to see
The good eye was not the best as I  would like it to be

Was not much fun for a child such as me
So off went the patch when my parents were not looking
I went to college with not much money to spend
Then the reading teacher called me in

A scholarship you have received
Tuition was paid so were my books and also my food

Who would have thought that a blind eye would be such a blessing
God allowed me to get my degree with out a debt or a fee
Because of a Lazy Eye that refused to SEE!!

Look Up Amy

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Amy my very special friend was diagnosed with cancer
She has four little boys under five years old
The doctor’s said, she has no choice, her breast will be removed
Look Up Amy, my child, God loves you and so do I
I know that sounds easy but I know that it is not
We go through a stage of denial and we often fret a lot
My heart breaks for you as you go through this trial
Look up dear Amy and try very hard to smile
It is easy for me to give instructions
When it is not me that is facing the chemo
This hurt in my heart is saying that I love you so
Look up sweet Amy, you are God’s special child
HE loves you more than I could ever dream
Cancer is a terrible word and this makes me want to scream
My dear special friend had to hear that she will walk this path.
Look up Amy that is the only hope that we have!!

Laugh

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Let’s laugh at the weather
It may not suit us today or tomorrow
Yet we can laugh due to mother nature
Doing whatever she wishes to get us all rattled
So laugh at the weather it will change you will see
It is spring like weather in the winter time down here
That is all right as we surely know
Tomorrow the weather could be winter again
Snow on the ground and ten below
Laugh at the weather in July we will cry
The sun will be baking us and nothing we can do even if we try
Laugh at the weather it is a nice day
My hair is blowing away so I can’t make it stay
In place like it should be or maybe it could be
So I laugh as I get blown half away
Tomorrow will be another day and I can certainly say
I will laugh at the weather regardless of it’s play
Regardless of the weather I will have a nice day!!
