This Is Independence Day

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

In 1776 we declared our Independence from England

What a wonderful day that was for the USA

Thank you for this Independence Day

God will you bless American even though we leave you out

Of so many things that it is you  it is  about

You must be ashamed of this country you made

We have left you out in so many ways

Thank you for Independence Day

Why don’t we pray and salute our flag

We have allowed others to take this away

God we love you and I pray that we will not lag

Allow the unbelievers to take down our flag

Thank you for Independence Day

You have asked us to humble ourselves and pray

May we do this so our land will be healed from strife

Help us to lay down our guns and our knife

To live for our Lord Jesus in peace and in quite

Thank you for Independence Day

May you keep God in your Fourth of July

God bless you::

Thank You Mother

Mother you are thought of each and every day

I cannot forget for a moment when I pray

To thank my God for what you say

Thank You Mother

When I think of my blessings

The first one is you

Who loved me and taught me the right thing to do

Thank You Mother

If there was ever a role model for mothers

It just has to be you

Who wasn’t afraid to discipline me

It was just the thing to do

Thank You Mother

You always had a compliment when I tried to do my best

It was not always perfect but you loved me no less

Thank you Mother

I want to thank the Lord for placing me in your life

Your teachings took, now I have a great life

Thank You Mother

Happy Mothers Day

Thank God for everything

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

I answered prayer request from people I do not know
They needed a friend and someone that would not show
Their secrets to others were safe with me
I answered them and prayed for the request you see
Thank God for everything

I picked up the phone and called my elderly sister
We talked and shared just above a whisper
I could not see her but heard her sweet voice
We need to check on those we love it is our choice
Thank God for everything

My husband was hungry so we went downstairs
Put food in the microwave and ate right there
Oh how often we forget to thank Him
For all the things we take for granted each day
May you bow your head now and pray
Thank God for everything

Thank You Mother

Thank you God for guiding my path

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Thank you God for guiding my path
Through the valley where you held my hand
The mountain tops that you tugged on me to climb
My parents that were given to me by your divine order
For my children that you sent to me in your timing
I praise you for my salvation
The mind that you gave me to understand the Old Rugged Cross
For your presence in my life today
Thank you Lord for your patience with a sinner such as I
The love that you have shown through the wrong paths that I chose
The many friends that you sent into my life to love
Thank you for the guidance you will give me tomorrow
For the forgiveness that you have given me today
Continue to guide my path dear Lord
The path that seems so uncertain to me
You know where I am going and you know where I have been
Thank you for listening to my prayers
Some of them are only whining or begging from me
Thank you

Thank You For Listening To My Prayers

Monday, March 16th, 2009
Thank you, God ...
For guiding my path through the valley,

Where you held my hand ...
The mountain tops that You

Tugged on me to climb ...
My parents that were given to me

By Your divine order ...
For my children that You sent

To me in Your timing.
I praise You ...
For my salvation.
The mind that you gave me

To understand the Old Rugged Cross.
For Your presence in my life, today.
Thank you, Lord ...

For your patience with a sinner such as I.
The love that You have shown

Through the wrong paths that I chose.
The many friends that You

Sent into my life to love.
Thank you ...
For the guidance You

Will give me tomorrow.
For the forgiveness that You

Have given me, today.
Continue to guide

My path, dear Lord ...
The path that seems

So uncertain to me.
You know where I am going

And where I have been.
Thank you for listening
To my prayers.

Thank Him

Monday, March 16th, 2009

I taught my little boys to be thankful

Before we ate, we bowed our heads and often

Said ‘God is great, God is good,

Let us thank Him for our food’

Many a child has said something like that

Some go on and on with their sweet little thanks

They thank him for everyone and everything

We adults are often impatient and ready to eat

It would be better if we would give thanks,

He provides our food and shelter

Days go by and we never remember to thank Him

Why do we wait until troubles come

To get on our knees and beg for Him

To listen to our request and answer them please,

I need you now can’t you see.

Thank A Vet

Friday, March 13th, 2009

I would like to thank the Vets
that have served

To protect us, every day,
in their own way.

They go to foreign lands
that they can not say,

Leaving loved ones behind
to go where they may;

To fight for our freedom and,
so often, we don’t say
‘Thank you for leaving your
free life behind, going
Where the battles are fought,
in the heat or snow.

I want to thank you for all
the wars that you fought.

The world wars were something
that you did not desire.
Yet, you went where they sent you, for service to aspire.
Purple hearts were given
to those that were hurt.
Air medals were earned because
of you being an expert.

Thank you, dear Vet,
for giving to me freedom, today,
Because you picked up your
duffel bag and went far away.
You did not ask to be sent
to Vietnam.
When you got home things
were not calm.

People were unhappy because
of the war and never said ‘thanks’;
Regardless of your status,
your pain, or your rank.
You came back as brothers,
with a bond for each other.
Thank you, dear Vet,
for leaving your sisters and brothers.

We appreciate you that were
called on for Desert Storm.
You never complained
or came home forlorn.
The spirit was there
(of the red, white and blue).
Thank you for being so brave
and so true.

Iraq frightened you
and this we all know.
But, did you ever put on a show
For the world to see how
brave that you are?
To me you all are a
bright shining star.

Thank you VET!!!!

Two Little Men

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

As I went from place to place
I kept seeing these two little men
Always together and not saying much
Just looking at them I wanted to meet them
It just seemed they needed a friend
As I was talking to God one day, I asked Him
Could I meet these two little men
Would you believe at my doctors office one day
These two little men were there
I introduced myself
They were happy and now we are friends
I go visit and let them know I care
The older one, told me I was the only visitor they have
Thank you Lord for putting these two little men in my path
It is my pleasure they are in my life.

Those Wrinkled Hands

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

I saw those wrinkled hands the first time today

Thinking how often they were folded to pray

Asking God’s guidance to guide the way

Those wrinkled hands

Seems like  just yesterday they changed the diaper  For three little boys

They were not wrinkled then, just smooth and soft

Wiping a tear from their eyes to show great love

Placing a band aid  on a wounded knee

Those wrinkled hands

The tender touch to those that was so loved

The hands were beautiful, young and fair

Took for granted that they would always be there

Those wrinkled hands

God had guided those hands to do many things for Him

To cook the food,  clean the house, to weed the yard IT was often for others you see

The hands were strong not a concern at all

Those wrinkled hands

Today as I looked into my lap

I saw knurled and wrinkled hands

It was a surprise to me as I could not believe

They were not there yesterday or were they

The biggest shock of all was

Those wrinkled hands belonged to me
